Installing Linphone Client 
SIP-Compliant VoIP Phone

Linphone is a freeware soft SIP complaint VoIP phone suitable to listen to Cetan Nagin's remote radio receivers. Use only the 3.1.2 version of the VoIP Linphone (linphone-3.1.2-seup.exe).  Later Linphone  releases appear to have some difficulties connecting through a dynamic DNS addresses. Downline load LInphone 3.1.2 from http://www.cetannagin.com/linphone.exe.

Linphone uses a SIP address to identify the destination or IP address of the remote radio receiver control computer. A SIP address is something that is similar to a email address, for example sip:alice@example.net. The domain name (example.net) can also be accessed directly using its IP address (i.e. 76.123.54.34). To listen to a remoter radio receiver connected to the internet, just type the remote radio receiver's control computer SIP address in the sip address bar, then click "Start Call". You should then hear a remote ring, and once the remote radio receiver you are calling has answered the call; you, will hear the audio stream from the remote radio receiver.

To listen to the Cetan Nagin - Shadow Hawk remote radio receiver's control computer use the following sip address;

sip:[individual number on the remote receiver's control computer]@dynamic_dns_address

or in our case

sip:7777@cetan.dyndns.info:6060

sip:7777@76.123.54.34:6060

where

cetan.dyndns.info - the dynamic DNS IP address we are using in this demonstration,

6060 - port number we are using for incoming SIP VoIP phone calls.

Very few remote radio receiver's have actually have a domain name or fixed IP address for the remoter radio receiver's control computer. That's why dynamic DNS address servers nn the internet with which you can create for free a public sip address.

Dynamic DNS providers provide a software client program that automates the discovery and registration of client's dynamic IP addresses. The client program is executed on a computer or device in the private network with a dynamic dns address. It connects to the service provider's systems and causes those systems to link the discovered dynamic IP address with a hostname in the domain name system. Depending on the provider, the hostname is registered within a domain owned by the provider or the customer's own domain name.

The Linphone installer program version "linphone-3.1.2-setup" file is stored on the Cetan Nagin website at http://www.cetannagin.com/linphone.exe.  Click on http://www.cetannagin.com/linphone.exe to down load the Linphone installation phone. 

Click on "Save File" button to store the LInphone Installer program on the local computer.

Select the location you wish to save the Linphone installer program and click on "Save" button to complete the down loading of the Linphone installer program.

Double click on "linphone.exe" row in the "Downloads" window to start the installation of Linphone VoIP computer program.

Click on "Run" button to skip MicroSoft Publisher Haggle.

Click on "Next" button to start the Linphone soft VoIP phone installation.

Check "I accept the agreement " -  (who reads the agreements - may I have mine in  Swahili  please).

Click on the "Next" button to continue installing the Linphone soft VoIP phone client.

Use the default program folder (do not change) and click on the "Next" button to continue with the program installation.

Click on "Next" button to continue installing the linphone soft VoIP client program.

Check the "Create a desktop icon" (Highly recommended and click on "Next" button to create a desktop icon.

Click on "Install" button to start the installation of the executiable linphone soft VoIP client program.
