SIGINT - Signals Intelligence
COMINT - Communications Intelligence

Signals intelligence (SIGINT) is traditionally considered to be one of the most important and sensitive forms of intelligence. The interception of radio signals can provide data associated with illegal activity of smugglers, terrorists, and narcotics traffickers. The Shadow Hawk Remote Signals and Intelligence System act as a force multiplier. The remote radios can monitor communications over large areas with a minimal force commitment. The remote surveillance system can capture the communications associate with illicit traffic in narcotics and dangerous drugs and infiltration of terrorists. Specific areas of interest included organizations and individuals engaged in such activities, the distribution of narcotics, narcotic cultivation and production centers, efforts to control the traffic in narcotics, and all violations of U.S. Laws concerning narcotics and dangerous drugs.

In the past traditional, the Communications Intelligence (COMINT) target has been diplomatic communications--the communications from each nation's capital to its diplomatic establishments around the world. In the post cold war era, COMINT has involved into protecting our country from terrorists, smugglers, and drug cartels.

Communications Intelligence (COMINT) obtained by the interception, processing, and analysis of the communications of individuals or groups. The Shadow Hawk remote radio receivers communications receivers monitor a variety of communications forms--voice, Morse code, radio-teletype, data, or facsimile in a wide variety of communications formats. The communications may be encrypted, or transmitted in the clear.

The objective of the Shadow Hawk's Database Miner is to help intelligence analysts see valuable connections between pieces of apparently unrelated, open-source information by applying link-analysis technology. The Shadow Hawk data miner provides the ability to sift through data and make inferences from the data connections created by the Shadow Hawk surveillance radio receivers.

The Shadow Hawk's Spoofy Receiver Finger Print Verification System identifies a radio transmitter by the unique "fingerprint"that characterizes its signal transmission. An electronic fingerprint makes it possible to identify a wireless device by its unique radio transmission characteristics, rise time signature, and other transmission charactoristics. The captured rise time signature and transmitting charactoristics are assigned unique "callsign", which allows the detection of a different transmitter using the same "callsign", or another "callsign".

The Shadow Hawk's NORA - Non-Obvious Relationship Analysis provides the capabilities to discover, record, refine and manage groups of database tables and relationships.
  • Automatically analyze database relationships across multiple sites
  • Discover all, or specified database relationships, based on your investigation parameters
  • Identify hard-to-find non-obvious relationships using the application logic
  • Compare database snapshot images to validate changes and trends to preserve data integrity
  • Promote consistent database administrative activities accross multiple agencies

In addition, analysts can access their colleagues user models to collaborate on queries and leverage the discoveries of others.
